Has the idea crossed your mind to Elope in Florida?
Well, if the answer is yes, Please read on for some great tips and info.
First some basic information. Getting married in Florida requires getting a Florida marriage license. Unlike some other states, you can actually get the license in any county and get married in any other Florida county. There are a couple of things to consider. There is a 3 day wait period from the time you get the license to be able to use the license if you are a Florida resident although there are some exceptions to that rule. On the other hand if you are not a resident you can get married the same day. The license is good for 60 days from the issue date and there are no blood tests or witnesses required in either case. You can get the license here even if you are not from the United States and the marriage is legally binding.
Some people have asked if they can get the license issued from their home state and use it here and the answer is no.
We have many clients come from all over the world like England, Scotland and the UK in general as well as all around the USA and Canada. Since Orlando, Kissimmee, St Augustine and Daytona Beach to name a few cities are tourist vacation spots, many choose to elope while on vacation for their dream Disney Universal theme destination wedding.
Being centrally located in the state makes our venue “The Secret Garden” an ideal place to get married. We do offer our officiant and photography services on location if you want to have it elsewhere. Prices may be slightly higher but we are always happy to provide you with a quote.
The beaches are popular for eloping to and since we are on a 14 acre private lake we also have the water theme in a beautiful garden setting. Our elopement packages are known as the “Marry Me Now” package and are greatly reduced in price from our full packages as they are streamlined down to be a great alternative to simply going to the courthouse and waiting for your number to be called. We do weddings all through the week as well as weekends so if you have any questions, just give us a call or send us an email. We are also surrounded by great restaurants and there are major named hotels you can trust within 4 miles of our location.

Green Lantern Power Ring
A word about the wedding bands. The grooms is a replica of a Green Lantern Power Ring, a super hero from DC Comics charged with policing space. Green Lantern has always been one of his favorite super heroes due to his ring being fueled by his own Willpower and it’s only weakness being his own Fears (embodied by the color Yellow).
The brides ring is a 14k Black Gold, Black Diamond ring in the shape of a lotus flower. She has always liked darker colors and wished to express her uniqueness with this non conventional ring. The lotus flower shape as well plays an important role in some works of fiction she enjoys.

One of the oldest planets in the universe, Oa serves as the home and headquarters for a race of blue-skinned powerful humanoids who have dubbed themselves the Guardians of the Universe. The Guardians administer the Green Lantern Corps, a group of powerful universal police officers equipped by the Guardians with green-colored power rings along with green lanterns with which to charge the rings.
According to the story “Heart of a Star” in the Sandman: Endless Nights graphic novel, Oa’s star is called Sto-Oa (the Light of Oa) by the children of the planet’s inhabitants. Its location has been firmly established by numerous references in Green Lantern comics over the years. It was formerly the center of the universe until the events of Infinite Crisis.
Oa’s history is not clear; according to some stories, the Guardians originated on a planet called Maltus. These evolved Maltusians later moved to Oa and named themselves Oans. Oa became a convenient base of operations. Other stories had the Oans living there from the beginning.

Congratulations David and Sara. David and Sarah came from Canada today for their Secret Garden intimate wedding and had a dozen or so guests along with wedding cake and cheese and sandwich platters.
The cake was beautiful and baked by Party Flavors and the sandwiches and fruit trays for from Publix.
A splendid time was had by all. They chose our most popular two hour package which includes the officiant, photography with high res digital files with copyrights, chairs, music, flowers and brides dressing room.

Secret Garden weddings
Secret Garden weddings have kept us from blogging as often as we would like to but truth is we would rather be creating memories for a lifetime than sitting at a computer.
Congratulations to Shawn and Micaela who married today in The Secret Garden. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Gary as are most of the ceremonies at The Secret Garden and the official photos taken by Marti at Abba Photography will be ready for the client within the next 2 days as promised. Elopement weddings are on the rise in general but certainly in the Orlando Florida area.
